Dear John:
I was sitting in the second row, right in front of Paco and Patchai - I have always been positioned on the left side of the stage. This was a treat as I like to observe as well as enjoy. Paco smiled a lot during this concert, which is very unusual for him. No, I did not see Tonino leave the stage before the number was completed. Everyone in my area was up and moving, which partially blocked the view. As far as the Lady In Red, I was able to talk with her briefly during the intermission, as well as after the concert. She told me that she has loved the Gipsy Kings since she was 12 years old, and it has been a dream of hers to be allowed on stage to dance for them. She was very beautiful up close, and had a heavy Latino accent. I did not ask her where she was from. She was on a true high at that point. She stated her dancing was a sign of love and respect towards the guys, period. It you noticed, Patchai encouraged the security team to allow her up with them, as well as the other beautiful ? gypsy girl/lady. He looked somewhat aggravated to me when Miss Red gravitated towards Nicholas. Nicholas obviously enjoyed her sincerity and beauty. As far as Tonino goes, who knows. He is the most cerebral of the group, perhaps; maybe was just irritated with the distraction right in front of him, and I am sure was more than a little tired and hot. I felt that Paco was there for him that evening especially - I could see the love pass back and forth between them.
Anyway, that is my take on this evening in response to your observations. Wish I could have met you too.
Sincerely, Gipsy Lady, Karen
